The KKE expresses its unreserved solidarity with the working class, the people of Sudan, and the Sudanese Communist Party, and condemns the recent atrocities committed in the city of Al-Fasher, as the war in Sudan enters its third year, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives and creating millions of refugees.

The "apple of discord" between the opposing bourgeois forces, backed by regional and international foreign powers, is control and division of Sudan's significant wealth and important geopolitical location. The bloody events in Sudan are part of a wider conflict in the Sahel region, involving both Euro-Atlantic monopoly interests and their competitors in China, Russia and elsewhere.

Fifteen years after the events of the "Arab Spring," the people and the working class of Sudan continue to experience the barbarity of the exploitative capitalist system in the most brutal way, which only causes suffering to the peoples everywhere, including the long-suffering peoples of Africa.

The KKE will continue to stand in solidarity with the Sudanese people in their struggle for economic, social, and democratic rights, and to create the conditions that will enable them to become masters of their own land.
