KKE: A militant and contemporary party, rooted in the workplaces, with strong organizations everywhere

On Monday 28 April, 2025, an event was held at the headquarters of the Central Committee of the KKE to honour the Party Organizations that achieved the best results in the party building and recruitment campaign, with the GS of the CC, Dimitris Koutsoumbas, as the keynote speaker.

“The KKE is at the forefront of the struggle, having formulated a contemporary revolutionary strategy and making constant efforts to expand its militant ties with the working class, the popular sections of the urban middle strata, the farmers and the youth”, stressed D. Koutsoumbas, among others.

“Hope lies only in the struggle of the working class and the peoples to overturn an increasingly barbaric and unjust world. Today, therefore, we have all the means to accelerate the steps towards a militant and contemporary KKE, more capable of achieving our great revolutionary goals. The bar is set high, and we can reach it. As we march towards the 22^nd Congress of our Party at the end of the year, we pledge that we will succeed!”.

D. Koutsoumbas referred to the conditions under which the recruitment and building campaign took place and said that “the efforts of the Party Organizations throughout Greece to carry out a task of enormous importance have unfolded under conditions of intense ideological and political confrontation with the New Democracy government and the other bourgeois parties, under conditions of escalation and intensification of the imperialist war and the country’s deeper involvement in it, with the people’s problems growing and the mass of the working class and the youth escalating under the decisive intervention of the vanguard organization of the communists.”

Under these conditions, he added, “many new comrades have joined us, the majority of whom are wage-earners and young people of working class–popular social position or background, who have taken the great and proud step of linking their lives to the struggle for a new society, socialism–communism! We warmly welcome them with our event today! Now, together, and with our collective experience, we can build on these steps, overcome weaknesses and delays, and throw ourselves even more dynamically into the struggle for a militant and contemporary Party, rooted in the workplaces, with strong organizations everywhere!”.
